IFCN Welcomes Five New Forest Firefighters to Strengthen Teams

The Institute for Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) has integrated five new Forest Firefighters who are now beginning specialized training.

The Institute for Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) now has five new Forest Firefighters. These professionals are beginning a demanding training and preparation course to join the Region's specialized teams.

During the welcome reception, the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Environment, and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, emphasized the importance of their mission in protecting the forest, preventing rural fires, and ensuring public safety.

Established in 2018, the Special Career of Forest Firefighter in the Autonomous Region of Madeira was a pioneer in Portugal and continues to be a pillar of the regional strategy for forest prevention, surveillance, and active management.
