The IMPULSO Gallery, an space managed by Funchal City Council, will host the workshop titled “Know the Plastic of the Muses” on October 16th. The initiative, led by artist Paola Rivas, is part of the parallel activities program for the exhibition “Plastic Muses,” which will be on display at the gallery until January 8th, 2027.
The workshop invites participants to explore the materials of their toys and learn conservation and restoration techniques. Each participant is encouraged to bring a personal toy to serve as a starting point for examining its characteristics, materials, and wear processes. Paola Rivas will share knowledge on maintenance and restoration, raising awareness about preserving objects that hold memories. The activity also aims to promote reflection on consumption, reuse, and sustainability, connecting with the exhibition “Plastic Muses,” where the artist investigates childhood, memory, and material culture through toys.
