International Promotion of Madeira Companies Aims to Overcome Insularity

Madeira's Regional Secretary for Economy highlights the importance of international promotion for local companies to overcome insularity challenges.

International Promotion of Madeira Companies Aims to Overcome Insularity

José Manuel Rodrigues, Madeira's Regional Secretary for Economy, emphasized in Paris the significance of international promotion for the island's companies to overcome the challenges of insularity and ultra-peripherality, aiming for regional economic growth.

Five Madeiran companies are participating in the Salon International de l’Alimentation (SIAL) in Paris, until October 21st, with support from Invest Madeira. The goal is to expand access to external markets, establish commercial relations, and enhance Madeira's agri-food offerings. IlhoPan, Sweets & Sugar, IlhaPeixe, Martins & Martins, and Tequerys, Lda. are present in the Regional Government's institutional space.

Rodrigues described SIAL as "the showcase par excellence for the food and beverage sector" and assured the continuity of government support for participation in international fairs, deeming it essential for Madeira's economic growth, job creation, and wealth. He also mentioned the possibility of fiscal support measures for companies and families facing rising living costs.
