During a working visit to Madeira, PCP MEP João Oliveira advocated for an increase in European funds allocated to the region and a simplification of access rules for community financing.
Oliveira, who drafts opinions on the ERDF and Cohesion Fund, called for a "more robust" European budget with funds for outermost regions and "easier, less bureaucratic, and more simplified" rules.
Housing was another key topic, with the MEP urging increased public investment and the mobilization of European funds for the sector to address social housing needs and access for families and workers.
