The JPP party has criticized Funchal City Council for allegedly failing to implement announced measures to address the municipality's housing problem.
The criticism, voiced by councilor António Trindade, centers on the council's intention to use the market to provide rental housing, a measure announced in June that, according to JPP, has yet to result in available homes.
Trindade highlighted approximately three thousand households on housing waiting lists, encompassing middle-class families and young workers, and warned of increasing pressure on the market, urging a shift from announcements to practical action.
