The JPP Municipal Group participated in the Funchal Extraordinary Municipal Assembly, where proposals on housing, infrastructure, and financial management were discussed. The JPP abstained on several points, acknowledging some progress but calling for an executive "more ambitious, more transparent, and better prepared to anticipate future challenges."
The party welcomed the acquisition of EU funds for water networks but stressed the need for clear information on goals and benefits. The JPP also warned about the slowdown in the real estate market, suggesting the Council prepare for economic changes and assess the impact of Local Accommodation.
Regarding housing, the JPP criticized the PSD/CDS majority's delay in updating the Municipal Rent Subsidy, recalling that their proposals were previously rejected. The party reiterated that the structural solution lies in increasing housing supply, not just immediate rental support.
