The Juntos pelo Povo (JPP) party has denounced the state of abandonment of Jardim de São Francisco, a historic space in the center of Câmara de Lobos, calling it an example of mismanagement by the PSD administration.
According to Nuno Freitas, a member of the Câmara de Lobos Parish Assembly for JPP, the area, inaugurated in 2006, includes a disused playground and a former restaurant, and is currently in "complete abandonment." JPP calls for urgent rehabilitation, suggesting the transformation of the site into a green leisure area with renewed parking, a new playground, and the creation of a new central hub connecting the seafront to the promenade and the salt pans.
