The JPP presented the vice-mayor of Câmara de Lobos with 24 proposals for the 2027 budget and Grandes Opções do Plano. Municipal councillors Jorge Figueira and Marco Ferreira and councillor Miguel Ganança called for concrete commitments with funding and execution deadlines.
The proposals include a municipal programme supporting minor surgeries, with an initial allocation of €120,000, and higher study grants. The party also wants the property tax kept at the minimum rate, a reduction of the municipal IRS share to 1.5%, and a tourist tax of three euros with exemption for residents.
The JPP also calls for a sanitation plan with set deadlines for the five parishes, a diagnosis of the local wastewater treatment plant, and better waste collection. It has asked the vice-mayor to state which proposals will be adopted, with their funding and timelines, and to justify any rejected.
