JPP Presents Constructive Proposals to Funchal Council for City Cleanliness and Care

The JPP party has submitted proposals to the Funchal Municipal Council to enhance urban cleaning, environmental awareness, and transparency regarding bathing water quality.

The Juntos pelo Povo (JPP) party has urged the Funchal executive to strengthen the response capacity of municipal cleaning services, citing recent examples of poor hygiene and waste accumulation.

JPP councillors proposed increasing human and operational resources for urban cleaning, arguing that the city's growth and rising tourism necessitate public services commensurate with this reality, especially given tourist tax revenue. They also advocated for a permanent environmental awareness campaign targeting residents, businesses, and visitors, emphasizing waste separation and recycling.

Furthermore, the JPP requested greater transparency from the Municipal Council regarding bathing water quality, calling for regular publication of analysis results and prompt communication of any necessary precautions or changes.
