Rodrigo Silva began a second term as president of JSD Porto Moniz, following a ceremony attended by Bruno Melim, head of JSD Madeira, and Valter Correia, president of PSD Porto Moniz.
Bruno Melim acknowledged the "distance" between northern municipalities and decision-making centers, but assured that JSD "leaves no one behind based on their geography." He advocated for greater Porto Moniz representation in regional debates, adapting politics to the expectations of new generations and preparing for the generational renewal of the PSD.
Rodrigo Silva committed to leading a "closer, more interventionist, and more demanding" JSD Porto Moniz, with priorities including housing, mobility, and creating opportunities to retain young people in the municipality. "A young person should not have to leave Porto Moniz to have a future," he stated, promising oversight and the presentation of alternatives.
During the same session, Valter Correia criticized the Municipal Chamber's "lack of investment" in areas such as housing, road safety, and infrastructure, citing examples in Seixal and Ribeira da Janela.
