Juventude Chega-Madeira (CH-M) has criticized the Regional Government's immigration policy, alleging it harms the island's youth in terms of wages, housing market, and access to employment.
The organization believes the increase in immigrant labor is driving down wages and worsening housing access difficulties, hindering the autonomy of young Madeirans.
CH-M accuses the executive of promoting immigration to meet the demand for cheap labor in sectors like construction and hospitality, at the expense of local youth facing obstacles to leaving their parents' homes, buying or renting housing, and starting families.
