The III Traditional Canoe Regatta of Câmara de Lobos was held on September 27th, organized by the Nautical Association of Câmara de Lobos with support from the municipality and the Regional Canoeing Association of Madeira. The event, part of the European Week of Sport 2026, brought together participants from various municipalities on the island.
In the traditional class, the Kiko canoe, crewed by João Carlos Lima and Norberto Lima, took first place, followed by the Madeirinha canoe. The competition featured 13 canoes in total, fostering camaraderie and valuing the region's nautical activities.
The organization intends to continue the regatta, aiming to establish it in the regional nautical calendar and increase participant numbers, thereby contributing to the appreciation of Câmara de Lobos' maritime heritage and traditions.
