Over 2,380 vaccines were purchased in the first half of this year through the ‘Kit Bebé’ Program, representing an investment of more than €127,000. This amount also reflects savings for Madeiran families.
Implemented in 2019 by the Regional Government of Madeira, the program provides €600 in support, via card, to all newborns residing in the region. The funds are intended for the purchase of health and well-being products for babies and are often used for vaccines not included in the National Vaccination Plan.
Vaccines against rotavirus and meningococcal diseases were the most sought after, totaling 918 and 737 units, respectively. Vaccines accounted for 23.6% of the total value used in the program during this period. Since 2022, the program has supported the acquisition of over 18,000 vaccines, exceeding €951,000.
