Madalena do Mar, in the municipality of Ponta do Sol, will host the 1st Stage of the SIPRE Regional Canoe Circuit next Saturday, July 11th. The competition, also known as the Ponta do Sol Regatta, is organized by the Madeira Regional Canoeing Association with support from the Ponta do Sol Municipality and official sponsor, kayak manufacturer SIPRE.
The event starts at 10:00 AM and will feature approximately 110 canoeists from various Madeiran clubs. The 8-kilometer course will include athletes from the Junior, Senior, and Masters categories, in male, female, and mixed classes. The event aims to promote regional canoeing and strengthen the association's commitment to revitalizing the sport.
