Madeira has achieved 37% area identification under the One-Stop Property Office (BUPi) system, with nine days remaining until the end of free registration. In the five municipalities of the region lacking a land registry, 31,717 property units have been identified, representing only 12% of those registered with the Tax Authority.
However, in terms of land area, the coverage is higher, with 14,350 hectares identified, corresponding to 37% of the total area in the covered municipalities. Porto Moniz leads in delimited area with 57%, while Ponta do Sol leads in the number of identified properties with 48%.
The free georeferencing service ends on September 30th, after which each registration will incur a fee. This georeferenced graphical representation will be mandatory for applications for financial support, including European and national funds, for rural or mixed properties.
