Madeira International Airport recorded more than 16 cancelled flights this morning, both arrivals and departures, including services operated by easyJet, TAP and Jet2.
The disruption comes as Storm Bruna approaches the archipelago, with worsening weather expected today and tomorrow. Some flights managed to land, but seven were waiting, and several have diverted to Porto Santo and the Canary Islands.
Wind speeds are forecast to intensify in the coming hours, with difficult conditions persisting until tomorrow evening, when a gradual improvement is expected. Passengers are advised to check flight updates with their airlines and consult ANA Aeroportos before travelling to the airport.
