The airports of the Autonomous Region of Madeira processed 2.77 million passengers in the first half of 2026, a 3.1% year-on-year increase. This positive trend was observed across both airports on the island.
The Madeira Airport saw a 2.9% rise in passenger traffic, while Porto Santo Airport experienced a 6.5% growth. This upward momentum continued into the second quarter, with a 2.4% increase in passenger movements at RAM airports compared to the same period in 2025.
Aircraft occupancy rates also improved, reaching 85.9% across the region's airports in the first six months, up from 84.6% in the prior year. Air cargo also saw a 1% increase, driven by higher volumes of unloaded goods.
