Madeira's airports handled 580,100 passengers in July, marking a 2.9% year-on-year growth. A total of 3,857 commercial aircraft movements were recorded.
The Madeira Airport was the main driver of this increase, with 541,000 passengers (+3.2%) and 3,522 aircraft movements (+3.3%). In contrast, Porto Santo Airport experienced a slight 1% decrease in passengers, totaling 39,100, and an 8.5% reduction in aircraft movements.
The average aircraft occupancy rate rose to 89.5% across both airports, compared to 88.2% in the same month last year. International traffic continued to lead, with 322,200 passengers, a 2.5% increase.
