Madeira recorded an express rental rate of 5% in the second quarter of 2026, meaning homes advertised for rent were off the market in less than 24 hours. Funchal, the region's capital, showed a slightly higher rate of 6%.
These figures are below the national average of 7% for the same period (April to June 2026), which was a decrease from 11% in the previous quarter. Across Portugal, approximately 7% of homes advertised for rent were removed from the market in less than a day.
In comparison, Funchal's rate was lower than other analyzed district capitals and islands, such as Évora (50%) and Faro (25%). Lisbon and Coimbra showed rates of 4%, while Porto recorded 7% and Braga 11%.
