The rounding rule is a micro-saving method that links savings to daily expenses. Instead of waiting until the end of the month to save leftover money, savings occur at the moment of each purchase.
The principle is straightforward: when making a payment, the amount is rounded up to the next euro or a predefined multiple, with the difference transferred to a savings account. For instance, a €3.60 purchase could be rounded to €4, saving 40 cents.
The main advantage lies in automation and habit formation. By saving as you spend, it becomes easier to build a financial reserve, an emergency fund, or finance future expenses like holidays or school supplies.
