The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) anticipates periods of very cloudy skies in the Autonomous Region of Madeira for this Sunday, July 19. However, the southern part of the island is generally expected to have little cloud cover.
The city of Funchal is forecast to have a day with low cloudiness and light winds, below 15 km/h. Elsewhere, winds will blow from the north/northeast, light to moderate, ranging between 10 and 30 km/h.
Sea conditions on the north coast are expected to have northeast waves of about one meter, while on the south coast, swell will be less than one meter. Sea water temperatures are expected to range between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius. The IPMA also warns of very high levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, with an index of 9 in Madeira and 8 in Porto Santo, recommending precautions.
