The Avenidas Novas Parish Council in Lisbon organized the Madeira Festival from September 10th to 20th, as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Autonomy of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM).
The event, held in the center of the Portuguese capital, was attended by thousands of people and aimed to celebrate Madeiran culture, traditions, and flavors. The program included close engagement with regional gastronomy and products.
Personalities such as the President of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, Rubina Leal, and the Regional Director for Communities, José Sancho Gomes, were present. The strong public turnout highlighted the importance of creating moments for sharing and valuing Madeiran culture, bringing the Region closer to Lisbon.
