The Torre Basic School (2nd and 3rd Cycles) marked the International Day of Peace by holding a Peace Vigil and the "Tree of Peace — Global Peace Circle Day" activity. These initiatives were promoted by the EFA and PLA courses, in conjunction with the UNESCO Associated Schools Network.
Trainees, teachers, and other members of the educational community gathered in a circle around the Tree of Peace. The vigil included moments of reflection and message sharing, symbolizing the defense of peace, dialogue, and respect for diversity. The school thus reinforces its commitment as a member of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network.
The commemoration is part of SMAL 2026 — September, Month of Literacy and Literacies, with the collaboration of APEFA — Madeira Delegation and InterHum. The school's participation in this national event will culminate with a presentation about Anne Frank, continuing the work of raising awareness about historical memory and human rights.
