Madeira Home Sales Drop 15.2% in Q2 Year-on-Year

Between April and June, 672 properties were transacted in the region, a 1.1% increase from the previous quarter but a 15.2% decrease compared to the same period last year. The decline was more pronounced in new housing sales, with a 30.3% reduction (106 units), while existing accommodation transactions decreased by 11.6% (566 units). However, the total transaction value showed a less significant drop, with 211.7 million euros traded, 2.8% less than the previous year. The value of existing accommodations increased by 4.4% year-on-year. For the first half of the year, the number of homes sold in Madeira fell by 20.7% compared to the first six months of 2025, and the transaction value decreased by 11.7%.
