House prices in the Autonomous Region of Madeira continue to rise, with an average increase of 10.3% in July compared to the same month last year. The average housing value on the island reached 3,788 euros per square meter, according to the 'idealista' portal's price index.
In Funchal, the appreciation was 8.2%, with the median price settling at 4,036 euros per square meter. The Madeiran capital is thus among the most expensive cities in the country to buy a home, surpassed only by Lisbon and Porto.
Nationally, housing prices rose by 8% in July, with the average price reaching 3,210 euros per square meter. This marks the ninth consecutive increase, although the growth rate has slightly slowed.
