The average asking price for residential properties advertised for sale in Madeira reached €590,000 in July, marking a 2.6% increase compared to the previous month. The rental market also saw a monthly rise, with the average advertised rent climbing to €1,600 per month, up 6.7% from June.
Despite the monthly increase, rents remain 8.6% lower than in July of last year. Nationally, the average asking price for homes across Portugal rose to €435,000, and average advertised rents reached a new high of €1,350 per month.
These figures for Madeira, indicating a continued upward trend in house prices and a rebound in the rental market, are likely to fuel ongoing concerns about housing affordability on the island.
