European Week of Sport (EWS 2026) takes place from September 23rd to 30th in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (RAM), coordinated by the Regional Directorate of Sport (DRD). The initiative, promoted by the European Commission, aims to encourage healthier lifestyles through sports and physical activity for all ages.
The regional program includes over 60 free activities, notably the #MEGA HIDRO by NIGHT GLOW event on September 25th and the SPORT VILLAGE #BeActive Active Families on September 26th. Throughout the week, over 40 sports facilities managed by the DRD will offer free entry, subject to reservation.
Additionally, on September 29th, an awards ceremony will be held to honor Madeiran sports figures who excelled in the 2025/2026 season. The full program is available for online consultation.
