The Regional Government Council has approved the award of preliminary and environmental impact assessment studies for three new road connections in Madeira. The total investment amounts to 3.3 million euros.
These future links include the Amparo/Lazareto – Lazareto/Caniço route, a variant for the Encumeada Tunnel, and a new road between Ribeira Brava and Calheta. The aim is to create alternatives to the island's main road arteries, enhancing the regional road network's capacity and safety.
The studies, awarded to a consortium of engineering firms, have an execution period of 435 days. They are intended to address current and future traffic pressure, improving circulation conditions and reducing operational risks.
