The Madeira Regional Government has announced financial support of up to 450,000 euros for the organization of the 2026 Madeira Rally, through a program contract with Club Sports da Madeira. This funding is intended for the organization of the event, considered one of the most relevant in regional motorsport and an important promotional showcase for the island.
Regional Secretary for Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues, highlighted the rally's positive impacts on the regional economy, including hospitality, restaurants, and commerce, in addition to considering it a platform for territorial valorization with a high return for Madeira. Paulo Fontes, president of Club Sports da Madeira, thanked the support, which allows the organization to maintain an "excellence level," and mentioned that the 450,000 euros represent about 60% of the global budget, with efforts to increase private sponsorship.
The 2026 Madeira Rally will take place from July 30 to August 1, featuring 15 special stages totaling approximately 200 timed kilometers. The competition begins with the Avenida do Mar super special stage, which the club aims to transform into a "great urban arena" for spectators.
