Decorative lighting for Madeira's Christmas, New Year's, and Carnival celebrations will cost approximately 2.7 million euros. This sum has been allocated by the Regional Government through a joint decree from the Secretariats of Tourism and Finance.
The budget covers the design, installation, and decoration for not only the Christmas and New Year's season but also extends to Carnival festivities. The budgetary expenses are divided into lots and specific areas of the region, including downtown Funchal, the central plateau, the quay, and main thoroughfares.
