Healthcare professionals in diagnostic and therapeutic fields in Madeira are participating in a national strike this Friday, advocating for the enhancement of their careers. The action includes gatherings in front of Quinta Vigia at 1:30 PM, followed by a protest at Palácio de São Lourenço.
The National Union of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technicians (STSS) stated the strike follows unsuccessful dialogue attempts with the Regional Government. Demands encompass the correct application of current legislation, regularization of work points, and adaptation of SIADAP to the region, alongside calls for more staff recruitment.
Technicians warn about the impact of staff shortages on meeting the needs of Madeira's population and seek solutions for work conditions and remuneration that match their responsibilities, aiming to retain and hire personnel.
