Madeira's New €13.95 Million Research Vessel Completed

ARDITI's new multipurpose research vessel completed its construction on August 28th, meeting the agreed deadline. The project, funded by a €13.95 million investment in Ocean Technologies under Madeira's Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), will now undergo compliance testing.

The contract was awarded in March 2025 to the French consortium EXAIL SAS and Chantier Naval Glehen SAS following an international public tender. ARDITI closely monitored the project, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.

Designed by French naval architecture firm MAURIC, the vessel will serve as a floating laboratory equipped with scientific sensors. It will enhance ARDITI's capacity for research and monitoring across Madeira's Exclusive Economic Zone, enabling acoustic data collection and support for new scientific projects on marine ecosystems.
