The Youth of CDS-PP Madeira (JP Madeira) opened its 12th Regional Congress this morning in Funchal. The opening session focused on a review of the past two years and the organisation's growth.
Regional leader Leandro Silva said the youth wing has more than quadrupled its number of congress delegates compared with the previous congress. He also pointed to wider regional presence, more activities and greater youth representation on electoral lists.
João Pedro Sousa, chair of the organising committee, highlighted housing, employment, wages and island-specific challenges. The congress continues with statute amendments, strategy motions and the election of new regional bodies.
