Madeira's tourist accommodation experienced a slight decrease in overnight stays in June, while revenue continued to rise, according to data from the Regional Statistics Directorate of Madeira (DREM).
In the sixth month of the year, the region welcomed 231,200 guests, a 2.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025. However, overnight stays totalled 1.146 million, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%. Hotels accounted for 66.1% of overnight stays, with a 3.4% decline, while local accommodation grew by 5.8%.
Despite the reduction in overnight stays, total sector revenue rose by 5.6% to 86.9 million euros. Room revenue also increased by 5.1% to 61.7 million euros. The national market was the leading source of tourists in June, accounting for 20.5% of overnight stays and showing a 7.6% growth.
