Madeira Under Weather Warnings Due to Intense Heat

Madeira is expecting a slight increase in temperatures, particularly the maximums, this Friday, July 3rd, according to the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

The sky will be partly cloudy to clear across the archipelago, with possible periods of increased cloudiness on the north side of Madeira Island and in Porto Santo until mid-morning. Winds will be light to moderate, from the North/Northeast, intensifying in the highlands from the afternoon.

Due to persistently high maximum temperatures, the entire coast of the archipelago is under a yellow warning. The mountainous regions of Madeira are under an orange warning, the second most severe on the IPMA scale, due to the heat expected until Sunday.
