Madeiran badminton players achieved a notable performance at the 3rd National Seniors Badminton Tournament, securing a total of four championship titles, one runner-up position, and two third places. The competition took place at the High-Performance Center in Caldas da Rainha.
Mariana Neves from CDR Prazeres excelled by winning the ladies' doubles in the main draw A, alongside Catarina Martins. Duarte Nuno Anjo, also from CDR Prazeres, became champion in men's doubles and mixed doubles in the secondary draw A. Cláudia Lourenço from CDR Prazeres claimed first place in ladies' singles.
The Madeiran delegation, which included athletes from Clube Desportivo e Recreativo dos Prazeres and Associação Desportiva Pontassolense, also achieved a runner-up finish in men's doubles and two third places in ladies' singles and doubles. The event also marked the debut of Rui Rodrigues and Alvarino Chen Lin in national senior competitions.
