The coalition stated they learned of the process through regional media and immediately requested clarification from the mayor. Élia Ascensão reportedly confirmed she was named a suspect but noted the council had not yet been officially notified.
Mais Santa Cruz criticizes what they term "political folklore" from the JPP, an attempt to portray themselves as victims in a case with suspects. They emphasize that the credibility of the municipal government is at stake and that the mayor should provide public explanations to the citizens.
