During the Madeira Rally autograph session at the Casino da Madeira, the environmental mascot 'Simão' from Funchal City Council (CMF) was present to call for civility. Accompanied by the environment councillor, Paula Jardim Duarte, 'Simão' interacted with drivers and the public, emphasizing the importance of respecting public spaces and the environment. The CMF, through its Environment Department, will also hold an awareness session at the Funchal Ecological Park on July 30, focusing on the proper use of the park and preventing littering. Additionally, the mascot will be present on Avenida do Mar before the first special stage, and the organization has increased the availability of recycling bins and general waste containers, including in the press area and the Service Park. A trophy will also be awarded to the most sustainable team.
