The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, announced that the executive will reconstruct the Salinas Pier, located in front of the Hotel Torre Praia. This project, part of the "Structural Rehabilitation of the Old Quay and Recovery of the Salinas Pier" tender, has been awarded for 4.3 million euros and has an execution period of 540 days.
Albuquerque listed other crucial investments for Porto Santo, such as the expansion of the Golf Course, with a tender already awarded for 10.2 million euros for an additional 9 holes, and the new Health Center, with an estimated cost of 35 million euros.
Investments in water capture through the desalination plant and the extension of the mobility subsidy to the entire year were also mentioned, aiming to improve air connectivity and combat seasonal tourism on the island.
