The rehabilitation of the Dr. Ângelo Augusto da Silva Basic and Secondary School and its gymnasium has been completed.
The works, representing an investment of 6.9 million euros (VAT included), focused on structural recovery, facade repair, and pathology correction. Existing spans and elevators were replaced, along with new finishes and painting. Some areas of the school building were reorganized to meet current needs, and ramps were added to improve accessibility.
In the sports pavilion, a new floor was installed, reinforced concrete elements were rehabilitated, and existing issues were addressed. Repair and replacement of damaged coverings, painting, and new spans were also carried out.
These improvements provide 207 teachers, 63 non-teaching staff, and 1036 students with better conditions for teaching, working, and learning. The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, will visit the school tomorrow at 11 AM.
