Mobility Week: Funchal promotes 'Mobi Open Day' and 'Mobi Orienta'

The Municipality of Funchal celebrates European Mobility Week with sports and awareness activities for active mobility on Sunday, September 20.

As part of European Mobility Week, the Funchal City Council is organizing the "Mobi Open Day: Active Sundays" on Sunday, September 20. Between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, Avenida do Mar and Praça do Povo will host various free activities for all ages, focusing on leisure, sports, and awareness for active mobility.

The event will feature opportunities to try sports such as athletics, gymnastics, table tennis, and skating, as well as orienteering challenges and chess. A dedicated children's area will offer face painting, a cycling school, and inflatables. Concurrently, the "Mobi Orienta!" initiative will invite participants to actively explore the city starting from Funchal Pier.

Sustainable mobility will be highlighted through an exhibition of electric vehicles and public transport information. Zumba classes, health screenings, and road safety games will take place in Praça do Povo, alongside adapted boccia for people with disabilities, promoting inclusion.
