Retired General Avi Gil, former military secretary to Benjamin Netanyahu, has denounced an alleged attempt by the Prime Minister's office to alter the official record of a crucial call on the morning of October 7, 2023.
Gil claims that in January, a stenographer informed him of orders from the then-chief of staff to change the recorded time of a Hamas attack alert call from 6:40 AM to 6:29 AM. The general described the alleged intervention as "falsification" and "systematic behavior" aimed at protecting Netanyahu's image, reporting the matter to the Attorney General.
The Likud party rejected the accusations, labeling them as politically motivated. As of now, there is no indication of a judicial conclusion or a commission confirming the alteration of records.
