Juventude Chega-Madeira has accused the Regional Government of 'governing for the rich' and 'stealing the future from young people,' stating that the executive lacks answers for the Madeiran population.
According to the party's youth wing, the government neglects the middle class, workers, and a generation struggling with employment and housing difficulties, deeming the governance model 'profoundly flawed' and 'corroded by vices such as corruption, cronyism, and favoritism.'
Renata Rocha of Juventude Chega-Madeira highlighted that while some 'always have an open door,' many young people 'do everything correctly' yet still fail to 'build a dignified life in their own land.' The difficulty in accessing housing is cited as an obstacle to youth emancipation and their remaining in the Region.
Henrique Mota added that the system protects 'those close to power,' leaving behind 'those who want to work and succeed honestly.' João Sousa criticized the focus on 'large economic interests and elites,' while the middle class and workers face 'insufficient salaries, unaffordable housing, and a progressive deterioration of quality of life.' The group advocates for a 'two-speed Madeira' and calls for a government that serves the Madeirans, offering opportunities and conditions to build a future through merit.
