A fire broke out this morning in Funchal's Old Town, in a separate, uninhabited building next to a property hit by a major fire on Friday.
Authorities state that the term "rekindling" does not technically apply to this new incident, as it is a separate fire in an isolated structure. However, the close proximity and the recurrence of incidents in the area are raising suspicions.
The Judicial Police were called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire, as it could not be immediately determined. The occurrence of multiple fires in a short period in the same area is causing distrust.
