The island of Madeira has a new private offering in mental health with the opening of MindClinic, located at the Alferes Veiga Pestana Commercial Center. The clinic, already operational, will be officially inaugurated this afternoon in a ceremony presided over by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque.
The project is an evolution of the Gabinete de Avaliação e Intervenção Psicológica (GAIP), founded in 2015, and now presents a more comprehensive intervention. MindClinic boasts a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, a neurologist, clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, a physiotherapist, a nutritionist, and social workers. Services cover areas such as anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, mood disorders, neurodevelopment, dementias, cognitive rehabilitation, and addictions.
The clinic also provides specific services for perinatal health, psycho-oncology, parenting, aging, and career guidance. In neurology, consultations are available for headaches, migraines, epilepsy, and sleep disorders. The facility also includes physiotherapy, massage therapy, and nutrition services. MindClinic adopts an integrated approach, coordinating mental and physical health, and offers consultations in Portuguese, English, French, and Spanish, also catering to the foreign population residing on the island.
