Decentralized health expense submission points within Madeira's health centers have recorded over 45,400 consultations since their establishment in February 2021. During this period, more than 42,500 reimbursement requests have also been processed.
The network of service desks, aimed at bringing services closer to users, began in Ribeira Brava and was expanded throughout 2021 to Machico, Santana, Calheta, Ponta do Sol, Porto Moniz, São Vicente, and Santa Cruz, with Câmara de Lobos completing the network in September of that year. These desks serve as an alternative to in-person appointments at the IASAÚDE headquarters in Funchal.
According to IASAÚDE president Rubina Silva, the initiative has been "essential for the convenience and well-being" of citizens, fulfilling the priority of "shortening the distance between the user and the services." In the first half of this year alone, over 2,850 consultations were conducted and approximately four thousand claims submitted, with Câmara de Lobos leading in both metrics.
