Large-sized components for new wind turbines were transported overnight on Friday to Paul da Serra, escorted by the PSP police. The transport is part of an investment by ENEREEM, a company of the EEM Group, in the Loiral III and Paul wind farms.
At Loiral III, two new wind turbines will be installed with a combined power of 7.6 MW. At the Paul park, five end-of-life units will be replaced by a single 3.8 MW turbine. The total contract for both parks was awarded for 19.65 million euros.
The investment aims to increase wind energy production. While this does not automatically lead to lower consumer bills due to the regulated tariff system overseen by ERSE, it contributes to reducing fossil fuel consumption and offers environmental benefits.
