Father Luís Miguel Delgado Pedreiro, parish priest of the parish communities of the Northern Deanery, has been appointed a member of the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of Funchal, representing that deanery for the coming three-year term. The appointment was made by Bishop Nuno Brás through a decree dated 23 October 2026.
The choice is part of the renewal of the council for 2026–2029, which will have 15 priests, including representatives of the Diocese's five deaneries. The council is an advisory body that supports the bishop in the pastoral governance of the local Church.
The parish communities of the Northern Deanery welcomed the appointment and wished the priest a fruitful mission, lived in faith, unity and dedication to the People of God.
