The Rectory of the University of Madeira will host, next Monday, July 6th, the official opening ceremony for the 9th edition of the Madeiran Portuguese Language, Literature, and Culture Course.
The course, running from July 6th to 31st, is promoted by the Regional Directorate for Communities and External Cooperation in partnership with the University of Madeira. It aims to strengthen linguistic and cultural ties with emigrants and their descendants, and to support the integration of foreign residents in the region.
Twenty participants from countries including the USA, Ukraine, Ireland, Sweden, Poland, Venezuela, Turkey, Russia, and Canada are attending. The program includes 50 hours of theoretical classes and 50 hours of fieldwork, with socio-cultural activities in various Madeiran institutions and companies, aiming to deepen understanding of the local reality and promote participants' socio-economic integration.
