Palmeiras Beach Closed to Swimming Due to Poor Water Quality

Praia das Palmeiras beach, in the municipality of Santa Cruz, has been closed to swimming by order of the Regional Health Authority. The decision follows results from the Bathing Water Surveillance Program, which detected abnormal values in recent laboratory analyses.

The health authority deemed the water quality a risk to public health, opting for the temporary closure of the bathing area as a preventive measure. The beach will remain closed until further tests confirm the water quality has been restored to safe levels.

Authorities urge the public to comply with the signage at the site and follow instructions from competent bodies.
